TEACHINGS FOR A NEW ERA - Politics

(HD) - A mission getting us nowhere
(August 1, 2009 - In English)

The only apparent, clear outcome was the establishment of a new regular government in 2002. Even after this, the young Muslims provided with guns and hand-grenades kept shooting and killing in retaliation. The most intelligent had never thought that the life of 2,900 people in a skyscraper would be redeemed by a stupid slaughter in another area of the Earth. Please, read again the pages that I wrote since September 2001 by explaining the kind of foolishness inspiring those campaigns. One of the most absurd things of all times is the Taliban resistence even to a ceasefire and a peace agreement, because many of them enjoy shooting and fighting an enemy (like it happened in Chechnya). Now they wouldn't give up so easily opposing to enemy forces. It's like an innate endowment, that Bush's policies revived.

(HD) - The true presidents will never be candidates - What's a true president like?
(August 3, 2009 - In English and Italian)

This video arrived only after midnight, at the end of a dark day.
My face was partially wrapped in darkness, but you can view it better if you stand up and look into your screen from a higher position. FAQ. All that in a soft voice? Yes, I spoke close to my usual microphone. FAQ. Are you still using your headset? I'm still using that, a microphone with headphones attached, because I really haven't found any better yet.

After the Honduran shake-up, a question hangs over our future
(August 21, 2009 - In Spanish)

The absence of widespread concern perhaps was caused by the limited influence of the country. The reasons for an unexpected end of the presidential term, however, seemed disproportionate. This is what we learned, of those events. If there's something more, that suddenly forced them into removing him, we have never known. What do you mean by 'election by acclamation'? A country experiencing unanimity in appointing one man, the most suitable of all. It's a very easy thing to do. What are the points of reference of your evaluation of a presidency? When I say one president is not up to the office, I'm referring to the thousands who are and can't hold it.

(HD) - The lack of a center in our institutions
(September 8, 2009 - In English)

DEAD PLACES
Those places suffered from a lack of a center, which often made those teachings irrelevant in the life of a young student. Tell them what a place with a center is. Think of a mosque. That is a place where hundreds of Muslim people gather, addressing their body toward a center. Think of a theatrical scene, a stage where a group of actors play a role. Universities are instead casual places where no one can be found when he's needed and none of those enrolled can find a human-like environment. Was that a university? The opening images are taken in the faculty of philosophy, in Genoa, at the entrance. The second building is part of the faculty of languages. And, of course, you'll say once again... There was no one. A desert. These were places that kept us at a distance. There were spirits only in the first half of the past century. Later they were attended by few only for reasons of prestige, but those holding a chair rarely went there. We hardly ever saw them. Some question the need for a center. Any decent place in the world has a center. If I go into one shop I find the sales clerk or the owner, in a travel agency I find an operator on a desk working before a screen, if I run a course of astrology I'm everytime available. Only universities are no man's lands, where you can hold the office without attending the place. They made and make use of those institutions only to have the title (of professor) or the qualifications for a job. On Memoriale you said that philosophy died in the early eighties. Right. And this was one of my best pages. The best explanation of why a matter can no more be taught. In this video your shirt collar appeared folded. It's an unexpected detail, that I noticed after recording. I didn't find it indecent, anyway. It might also come into fashion, in an informal context. In this video, the reader notices more than in others a rail covered with rust. Would you like it to be perfect, while describing such a great decay of culture?

The Afghan presidential election: the same old story
(September 12, 2009 - In English)

(HD) - What or who is worth a visit

The smart weapons
(October 24, 2009 - In English)

With the human resources we've been given by nature, there are still people using conventional weapons and fire-arms.

Can there be a nuclear strategy?
